Parents Name Newborn After Skyrim Character

Perhaps seeing the extreme unlikelihood of such a thing ever happening, Bethesda Softworks had a contest that awarded a lifetime of free Bethesda games to anyone whose child was born on 11/11/11 (Skyrim's release date) and named their child after the main character, Dovahklin. Sure enough though, someone took the bait.

Gamer parents Megan and Eric Kellermeyer had a son born on 11/11/11 and named him Dovahklin Tom Kellermeyer. Here's what momma Megan had to say on her blog:

"We've toyed with Dovahklin and the ramifications of naming a child that name, and that name being based on a video game character (however awesome), and what impact that would have on him. But the more I thought of it, the more I settled on Dovahklin, contest or no. It helps that we told all our friends and family and very few are opposed to the idea. My mom thought it was neat! He will have a perfectly normal and common middle name if the first name becomes too much for him or us or we just want to call him a nickname."

This hardly stands out in this day and age of everyone seemingly naming their children after whatever springs to mind, so it's pretty unlikely this kid will have many problems when his peers are named Pilot or Pomegranate or whatever, yet it's still notable because the parents made their choice to win a prize that barely amounts to anything in the long run.

This was last week's news, and it's just being posted TODAY.

"Hey, dad, where did you ever come up with a name like Dovahkiin?"

"Well, son, it's from a video game I liked years ago."

"What the fuck, dad?"

If we belive what Robin Williams said, then he too named her daughter after Princess Zelda from The Legend Of Zelda series... well Zelda is a more common name than Dohvakiin i guess. XD

I named my daughter Kairi.

Robin Williams named his Daughter Zelda williams it aint a big deal.

See thats why brother and sister shouldnt have kids they give there kids name like that o,o
