Hack your PS3 with your Android: NexusOne or Desire
Confirmed working on my N1 running CM6. It's also reported to work on Desire (Bravo) running OpenDesire 4.0.4 and possibly other HTC phones sporting the MSM72K USB controller. I'm not 100% on whether or not Cyanogen Mod 6.00 (CM6) is required, but I know your phone must be rooted. All right, lets do this:
- Download the package, extract it.
- Extract N1-CM6-PSFreedom.tar.gz and copy the contents to your SD card.
- Copy PS3-signed.zip and PS3-No-More-signed.zip to your SD card.
- Reboot into the recovery console.
- Create a Nandroid backup just in case.
- Install/flash PS3-signed.zip.
- Reboot your phone.
- Use ConnectBot or any terminal app and type:
- cd /mnt/sdcard
- su
- insmod psfreedom.ko
- Kill the power to your PS3, switch on the back (PS3 Fat) or unplug from the wall (PS3 Slim), and connect your phone via USB.
- Re-enable power and press the PS3 power button followed by the eject button in quick succession.
- Your PS3 is now hacked! You'll see "Install Package Files" under GAME on the XMB.
To return your phone to normal just boot back to recovery and flash PS3-No-More-signed.zip. It's that easy.
Known bugs:
- This will disable wi-fi untill the original boot.img is flashed back.
- This will also disable USB mass storage.
Update: t4tav confirmed via the comments that this release only works on NexusOne and Desire phones. Check back later for a universal version. Also, you should know the flashable zips -- PS3-signed.zip & PS3-No-More-signed.zip -- are packaged in such a manner where an unlocked bootloader is not necessary. You still need root however.
Update: Problems with Backup Manager? Replace psfreedom.ko with this one. That should work (insmod again if needed). I just cracked open a virgin PS3, updated it to 3.41, and ripped [my own] game (Avatar, don't laugh, it's a long story, plus it's small and quick to rip) and it loads/plays no problem. Again, mad respect to everyone involved with this righteous PS3 hack.

Update: Some people have reported problems with WiFi even after flashing PS3-No-More-signed.zip. If that's the case you can restore from your Nandroid backup and everything should be returned to normal. If you didn't create a backup you can try re-flashing CM6 or whatever ROM you were originally running.

Does this work with the HTC Tatto? And how do I reboot into the recovery console?
So this should work on any android version? 1.5 and up?

Sorry for this question, but how would i put this on the g1 phone.
why dont they use a normal hardddrive from a pc and install the code from that way wrwite windows program simliar like system restore to make it run from the harddrive it cant be that difficult??
Do i need like a root-access on the phone for this or can it work with a "untouched" phone. Have rooted my phone before and it went very bad after a few times....
